Tree Trimming & Pruning in Canyon County
Branches on the roof, over the driveway or hanging too low? A good trim makes a tree safer and healthier. Call and we’ll connect you with a local crew.
Common reasons to trim
- Branches rubbing the roof, gutters or siding.
- Limbs hanging low over a driveway, sidewalk or street.
- Dead or broken branches that could drop in a windstorm.
- A thick canopy that blocks light or catches too much wind.
Signs of a good trim
- Cuts are made just outside the branch collar, not flush with the trunk.
- No more than about a quarter of the canopy comes off at once.
- No “topping” (cutting the top off a tree), which leaves weak regrowth.
Rules to know
- Trees in the strip by the street may belong to the city or need a permit. See the Nampa and Caldwell pages.
